Red Eyes
I was probably around 9 or 10 when this happened. I woke up randomly during the night and go downstairs to get a cup of water. The way my kitchen is set up is that the kitchen sink has a window right above it that looks out into the back yard. Parallel to the sink was our refrigerator, so that if you are facing the fridge your back is to the window and vice versa.
So, I get my water from the fridge, and stand in front of the window just drinking my water. It is pitch black, with only the light above the sink on. I suddenly notice two red 'eyes' in the window. I turn around and look at the fridge to see if maybe there are red lights reflecting off of it onto the window, there are none. I turn back and the 'eyes' are still there. The weirdest part of this is just how calmly I drank my water while staring at these 'eyes'. After I was finished, I had a huge urge to open the back door, but decided against it. I told my mom about it in the morning, but she brushed it off as a possum. Here is my explanation as to why it could not have been a possum, nor any other animal:
Our house was built on a hill. The backdoor from the kitchen actually lead out to a deck. There were stairs that passed directly under the kitchen sink, which allowed you to reach the ground floor. Why is is not possible for a possum to be sitting on the railing then, you may ask? Well, the problem with that was that even though there were stairs that passed under the kitchen sink, they were too far below it. Even if an adult was standing directly under the window, they would not be able to see into the kitchen, they would only be looking at bricks.
Unless possums can levitate, I was staring at something freaky.
